What we do

We believe that there is only one of the earth we live in, so we need to take care for it, now and for the future generations. ICCM is working to ensure people are sensitized and excited to understand the environment and its importance with the aim to create a waste free Malawi.

1. Education

This will be done by increasing education and understanding about different resources while being conscious about our health and the environment. With clean places, land, forest, beaches and rivers: people will naturally think before they throw waste into the tidy space and know it is not good to dispose of waste inappropriately.

We work with many private and government schools and expand our programs and link them with existing WASH activities.

We expect all recyclables to be separated and cleaned on collection. This eases the process at the Waste Transfer Station so we can reuse the items with no extra work.

ICCM designed and constructed the smaller recycling point in the education space at Lilongwe Wildlife Center. Due to high demand and easy access another larger recycling point was constructed in the Lilongwe Wildlife Centre car park.
